I remember once hosting a group of young environmentalists in our Fellowship Hall and they heard singing coming from the sanctuary. They asked what was going on and I told them a theater company was rehearsing the musical "Rent." I saw some surprised expressions then one said, "That show has some rather vulgar songs and stories doesn't it?" I said, "Yes but the story is very important." Another said, "I won't go to church but if I did decide to, this is the kind of church I would go to."
FCC continues to open our doors to the community for all kinds of reasons... Dear Pastor Karen and First Christian Church, Thank you very much for letting us rehearse the staged reading of “On Golden Pond” in your space! We are grateful! Performance is Wednesday, March 20th at 7 pm in Varsity Theater Balcony. No fee! You are most welcome to come! Thanks! JoAnn Hensley & cast
Great guys to work with.

The volunteer crew of Tim Damian, John Nemetsky, John Phelps, and Al Parr have completed the lighting conversion from T-12 fluorescent to T-8 LED in the Fellowship Hall. The electrical load went from 24.4 amps to 13.7 for a savings of 44%. Not only that but the lighting in the Fellowship Hall is brighter and more evenly distributed. Moving forward and cutting our carbon footprint. Helping to take care of God's creation.
